July 25, 2008-? - How To Make A Haunt

Throughout the next few days, I'll give my own version of How To Make Your Own Haunted House. WARNING - Use this procedure at your own risk.
Lets see how far I get. I will be telling you how to haunt in your garage.
Step 1a
Clean The Garage
Pretty simple, really, the sooner you finish this, the sooner you can start building.
Step 1b
Make a floor plan
work on this whenever you have time, you can't continue till you finish this step aswell.
Step 2
Main construction
Five basic ways to do this:
1. Beams and Black Plastic
Set up a sturdy structure and wrap it in the plastic.
2. Rope, Plastic, and Duct Tape*
String the rope accross the area, and tape on the plastic.
3. Cardboard construction*
Tape the cardboard together.
4. Plywood / Particleboard Walls
For this one build sturdy frames and secure lumber to frames.
5. Cool Construction
Use different items such as lattice or tin foil to create the scarriest environment posible. This could get expensive, so I wouldn't recomend it to a first timer.
*Not the strongest structure avaleable.
Step 3
Props
For this, you're going to have to spend some money. Either you'll spend your money on the more expensive halloween superstore props, or you'll build your own props, that will, in the long run, be much less expensive. What style props you build will ultimately depend on your theme wich you chose back in the planning stage, so I'll leave that up to you.
Step 4
Actors
For this one, ask for some of your friends for their assistance, and dress them up.
Step 5
Scene Ideas

Heres a few of my ideas for this year. I'm thinking of having an entrance room with a large table with a bunch of stuff on it. I also want to do a "butcher hallway", and an old western workshop.

Heres the basic floor plan: ( have fun thinking!!!!!!!!!! )

Well, I start building in a few weeks. I have big plans this year, western themed. Heres a few props I was able to find around the house:

From top to bottom: my blacklight, my saw pig mask, and my vampire bat. I'll write again soon.
